Cooper Westendarp, CEO and Co-Founder

In addition to his work at Charter School Specialists, Inc. and Racetotop.com, Cooper is the Founding Director of Finance and Operations for PAVE Academy Charter School, a high performing elementary school in Brooklyn, NY.  Serving students at the heart of the school reform movement in New York City, Cooper has worked with nation’s most innovative and influential school reformers to eliminate the achievement gap between low and high income students.  Cooper earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, a Master of Arts in Teaching at Johns Hopkins University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership  through the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University.  To learn more about Cooper’s bio and get a glimpse into the mission of a high performing charter school, please visit www.paveacademy.org

Henry Westendarp, COO and Co-Founder

A current business consultant and non-profit board member, Henry has started and led a prominent direct marketing company in the Southeast, and now numerous non-profit organizations.  Henry has been at the forefront of Race to the Top from its inception and has worked with legislators, public officials, and school administrators to help them understand more about the grant’s complexities.  His particular expertise is Fund Raising for a variety of non-profits, including charter schools, on both a paid and volunteer basis.  A Wharton School graduate, executive, civic leader, fund-raiser, financial manager, data master, strategist - Henry’s entrepreneurial experience and network is broad and deep.  His latest project…Race to the Top!
